Designed by Gardner Martin, this popular configuration features a long wheel base and handle bars that are reminiscent of the "chopper" motorcycle. In its unfaired configuration, it is popular with the touring cyclist, it's long wheel-base smoothing out the bumps, and the "heads up" seating position affording a better view of the countryside. A front fairing helps to cut through the air, without the added side area of a full fairing.
