EMILY MAST

Emily Mast is a multimodal artist expounding the dialectic of performance art as founded by Jackson Pollock and Saburo Murakami. She creates performances and ephemeral installations that incorporate bodies, movement, sound and idiosyncratic experience to exhibit uncertainty as live sculptural material.

Her work has been exhibited at LACMA, the Hammer Museum and Night Gallery in Los Angeles; and Performa, Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Project Space and Simone Subal Gallery in New York; and Galeria Luisa Strina in São Paulo. Emily has been an artist-in-residence at the Headlands, Yaddo and Skowhegan. She is the recipient of a California Community Foundation Fellowship, a Rema Hort Mann Foundation Award and a CCI Investing in Artists Grant.
