Zack Snyder Hosts Charity Event to Support ArtCenter College of Design
Filmmaker Zack Snyder will host a three-day charity event to raise money to refurbish the Ahmanson Auditorium at ArtCenter College of Design. Snyder earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film from the College in 1989 and is currently on their Board of Trustees. ArtCenter College of Design is a global leader in art and design education. In addition to its top-ranked academic programs, the College also serves residents of the Greater Los Angeles region through a highly regarded series of year-round educational programs for all ages and levels of experience.
The three-day event will consist of director’s cut screenings of Snyder’s films followed by Q&As featuring the filmmaker and special guests each night.
When discussing the event and the importance of a new theater at ArtCenter, Snyder said, “The filmmakers at ArtCenter create amazing films worthy of a cutting-edge venue to present them, so I’m honored to kick off the drive to refurbish ArtCenter’s Ahmanson Auditorium with this event. I look forward to reuniting with cast and crew to discuss the art of filmmaking.”
“This series is an extremely valuable learning opportunity for our community of filmmakers and the general public to experience these phenomenal movies as the director intended on the big screen and in conversation with the creative team about their artistic process,” said Ross LaManna, chair, undergraduate and graduate Film departments, ArtCenter College of Design.
Tickets are on sale now at artcenter.edu/connect/events/snyder-directors-cuts.html. The screenings will be held at ArtCenter College of Design, 1700 Lida St., Pasadena, Calif. 91103 in the Ahmanson Auditorium. The event is being sponsored by VERO True Social.
