The College’s facilities have been specially designed to meet a wide range of student needs.
South Campus provides classroom space and administrative headquarters for Art Center’s Public Programs and is home to Art Center’s Graduate Art and Graduate Media Design Practices programs, Archetype Press, Printmaking Studio, The Agency and the Judy Slasky Memorial Rooftop Garden. A café serving sandwiches, beverages and snacks is available on the second floor during select hours.
Hillside Campus is home to the College’s undergraduate programs, Graduate Industrial Design, Graduate Environmental Design, Graduate Transportation Design and Graduate Broadcast Cinema programs, administrative offices and much of the College’s faculty and staff. The contemporary structure that constitutes Hillside Campus houses studios, classrooms, galleries, laboratories and shops, as well as a library, student store, cafeteria and auditorium.
Art Center Xpress Shuttle Service
Starting Fall 2012, Art Center is very pleased to announce that the College is providing a free shuttle service uniting both Hillside and South campuses. The shuttle will allow staff, faculty and students the opportunity to take the Metro Gold Line to Fillmore Station and shuttle to Hillside campus.
You also have the option to park at no cost at the parking structure located at 888 S. Raymond and ride the shuttle to Hillside campus. This will help resolve parking issues at Hillside. Fall 2012 term will be a pilot program. As ridership increases and South Campus activity grows we plan to add more shuttles next year.
The shuttle will run Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Shuttle schedules are available in the Art Center at Night/Public Programs office at South Campus. The shuttle will begin at 950 S. Raymond (South Campus), next stop is curbside at 888 S. Raymond (Parking Lot/Structure just north of the South Campus building) then proceed up to the Hillside Campus where it will stop in front of the Ahmanson Auditorium (by request), the student parking lot, and front door near the Student Gallery.
In the future the shuttle will also stop at the Metro Gold Line Del Mar Station. Incorporating Metro into our route provides the Art Center community access to numerous restaurants, shopping and entertainment options in Old Town Pasadena as well as bus lines 180 & 181 that run 24/7.
If you have any questions about our new shuttle system, please contact Linda Estrada, Manager of Transportation and Sustainability, at 626.396.2362 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
