BIOGRAPHY

Michelle Katz is a veteran attorney and business specialist in Intellectual Property, Contracts, Promotions and Licensing Matters. Her capabilities include identifying, structuring and negotiating strategic partnerships; drafting, negotiating contracts; developing and implementing IP Strategy: copyright, trademark, online policies, business and legal strategic counseling for start ups.She is co-founder and COO of Ideapiphany, LLC a licensing and open innovation company bringing designs and technologies to businesses, and introducing synergistic businesses to one another. She is a faculty member at Art Center College of Design and adjunct professor and California College of the Arts, teaching law for artists and designers, as well as graduate level Business Law and Negotiations in the MBA program at CCA.Prior to starting her own practice in March of 1999, Michelle was Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs Universal Studios New Media Group; Vice President Business and Legal Affairs Universal Studios Consumer Products Group and Director of Business and Legal Affairs, Paramount Pictures Consumer Products Group & Anti- Piracy Department. Prior to joining the Studios, she was associate counsel at the Writers Guild of America, West.Michelle is a member of the California State Bar, and holds a Law Degree from the University of Southern California where she was on the Law Review. Prior to law school she earned her Bachelor''s degree in History from the University of California, Berkeley and her Teaching Credential from California State University.
