Title: Coordinator, Photo + Imaging

Description

This position serves as the first point of contact in the Photography and Imaging Department for students, faculty and guests and is responsible for coordinating daily office functions such as scheduling of appointments, meetings, lectures, demos; organizing the student gallery selection and preparation for exhibiting; scheduling and logistics for 3rd, 5th and 7th term portfolio reviews as well as scholarship reviews.  The Coordinator interfaces with labs, stages, and equipment room and functions as the primary source for gathering, updating and distributing information to students and faculty through email, meetings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Photo Office organization, phones and inquiries—answer questions about the Department, handle inquiries about access to photo equipment, curriculum labs, stages, equipment room; direct other inquiries to the appropriate offices, staff or faculty
  • Construct each term’s schedule of undergraduate courses, coordinate days and times with faculty and provide all course information to Enrollment Services
  • Schedule and implement departmental meetings, reviews, guest lectures
  • In charge of department website
  • Update display cases, video screens and bulletin boards
  • Coordinate the regular collection of materials for website, publications and presentations
  • Oversee student gallery selection and production
  • Oversee Grad Show setup and student recruitment events
  • Photo lockers upkeep and distribution
  • Oversee student worker hiring, paperwork and time sheets for payroll
  • Process invoices and payment for department purchases, vendors, guest speakers and other departmental paperwork
  • Collect, organize and archive student and faculty artwork/images
  • Tracking of student achievements, awards and academic status
  • Coordinate new student orientation, special projects and long term initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior experience in front office administration preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to coordinate multiple projects and prioritize work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, faculty, and the public
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle changing priorities, and be both a self-starter, problem solver and team player
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and PowerPoint applications
