ArtCenter of College of Design seeks a dynamic candidate interested in exploring Material Science in the context of an art and design school. Funded by a grant from the W.M. Keck Foundation, the fellow will serve a term of one year with the possibility of renewal. Load will be 50% teaching and 50% research. Fellows will work with the Chair of Humanities and Sciences to develop appropriate course offerings in the material sciences and will also oversee two student research assistants. Candidates should be able to teach across foundational and advanced science courses with students from a range of disciplinary orientations within art and design. Applicants should demonstrate an interest in collaborating in different pedagogical configurations.
Currently this position is not schuled to start till September.

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions; extended periods of time viewing computer monitor; interactions with other individuals. Due to the nature of the work environment, there is regular exposure to fumes, dust and noise.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office and educational settings; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 20 pounds); to operate modern office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Regular and consistent attendance are required for most positions. Ability to travel between campuses; International and Domestic travel by car and airline and overnight travel is required. Able to work nights and weekends to attend events.
Vision: Must be able to have the visual capacity to perform activities such as preparing and reading reports, viewing a computer terminal and other normal office work with or without correction.
Hearing: Must be able to communicate effectively in the course of normal office communication or exchange ideas with or without correction.
