Educational Media Services
This position has responsibilities supporting all events, small and large, which use technology across the campus. This includes the pre-production and production implementations of all events, and the set-up and take-down of equipment for media events. The position is also responsible for equipment maintenance and its use throughout rooms at all campus locations. As a member of the Educational Media Services team, the Audio Visual Technician also serves as a backup to other members to support AV needs. All members are responsible for ensuring that events (whether in a classroom, auditorium, or other location) are handled with the appropriate attention and customer care.
Evening and weekend hours may be assigned for certain events.
This is a full-time staff position, 35 hours per week, with benefits including health insurance, retirement savings plan, vacation days, paid holidays, and other additional benefits.

Salary grade: Salary range $34k to $36k

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office, classroom or auditorium setting with frequent interruptions and distractions; extended periods of time viewing computer monitor; interactions with other individuals. Due to the nature of the work environment, there is regular exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust and noise.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work and move about in a school setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight (up to 50 pounds); to operate modern office and A/V equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard and electronic diagnostic tools; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: Must be able to have the visual capacity to perform activities such as setting up equipment, viewing a computer terminal and other normal technician work with or without correction.
Hearing: Must be able to communicate effectively in the course of normal business communication or exchange ideas with or without correction.
